About Tony

Tony was born, raised, and educated in Maidstone, and has lived and worked in the County Town his entire life. His family roots go back many generations, giving him a deep understanding and connection to the local community.


Career and Professional Background

Tony’s professional background is in emergency planning and response, where he’s played key roles in managing many major incidents across Kent and beyond. He also brings hands-on experience from working in agriculture, television, and the paper industry.

This wide range of experience gives Tony a unique and practical understanding of both local needs and how to deliver real results.


Political Experience

Tony has been a dedicated public servant for over three decades. He was first elected to Maidstone Borough Council in 1989, and has proudly represented North, East, and Penenden Heath Wards ever since.

He is widely respected for being a tough, effective, and knowledgeable councillor


Environmental Leadership

Tony has led many high-profile environmental and public health campaigns. His achievements include:

  • Founder trustee of Vinters Valley Park Local Nature Reserve
  • Helping establish the River Len, Buckland Hill, and Boxley Warren Nature Reserves
  • Campaigns against river pollution, fly-tipping, untaxed and abandoned vehicles, disposable vapes, and Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) misuse
  • Has been a leading campaigner to protect Barming Woods from the potential expansion of the Hermitage Quarry.

His passion for protecting Maidstone’s green spaces and tackling environmental issues has made a lasting impact across the town.
