Cllr Geoffrey Samme

Geoff Samme - Kent County Councillor for Maidstone North East

Geoff Samme has been an active member of the local Liberal Democrat team for nearly 30 years and is proud to represent Maidstone North East on Kent County Council.

Aged 57, Geoff has lived in Maidstone since he was three years old—first in Moncktons Lane and now in Vinters Park, where he continues to live today. He was educated at Maidstone Grammar School before going on to earn a degree in Economics and Statistics from University College London. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Geoff held senior financial roles in a number of local businesses.

Geoff’s long-standing commitment to the Liberal Democrats has seen him campaign alongside numerous councillors across Maidstone for the past 28 years. Last year, he chose to retire early from a successful career to dedicate his time to campaigning in the Borough Council elections, demonstrating his strong commitment to local representation and community engagement.

Geoff’s top priority is clear: to support and serve the local community. Whether it’s by improving infrastructure, protecting services, or addressing residents’ day-to-day concerns, he is determined to be an accessible and effective voice for Maidstone North East at County Hall.
