Who is Rosaline Janko?

Rosaline Janko has run The Walnut Tree pub in Tonbridge Road for the past 3 years and is well known locally. It is a happy, lively pub in the heart of the community. Rosaline has 3 grown-up children, 2 of whom still live in Maidstone. Before taking over The Walnut Tree, Rosaline worked as a care assistant helping people with learning disabilities then as a manager providing extra care for people living in a sheltered housing scheme. Both were rewarding and challenging roles which strengthened Rosaline’s resolve to support the disadvantaged and vulnerable members of our community. Rosaline likes to listen and learn from people and believes it is important to treat everyone equally. These are qualities which will help her support the people of Fant.

Rosaline Janko, is determined to be a representative of Fant people at the heart of the community. Fant is a rich and diverse area. It has many charms but has been sadly neglected in places. Many people are passionate about its future but Fant needs someone with interest and enthusiasm who understands the needs of residents and will support our community.

Liberal Democrats in Maidstone have a strong record of fighting for local residents over many years and on many issues. As Borough Councillor for Fant, Rosaline Janko will:

  • Be at the heart of the local community and a champion for the residents of Fant
  • Resist unacceptable and unsustainable development in Fant and the surrounding areas
  • Protect and enhance precious green spaces in Fant
