A Planning Application is in the process of being submitted by Waitrose for a 29,000 square foot store at Eclipse Park.
This would provide a café, a limited selection of garden products, along with a home delivery service and a click and collect point for John Lewis. At this stage you can view details of the proposals on http://www.waitrosemaidstone.co.uk/ and comment direct to them.
It is expected that the actual planning application would be submitted in late February or in early March when you would have another chance to comment. If consent were granted construction would start later this year and the store would be opened open in early 2018.
Applications on Junction 7 have previously been highly contentious. The Borough Council will consider how this application would affect the viability of shops in the town centre. Parking proposals and the effect on local traffic would also be considered.
