Whilst social distancing guidelines exist, KCC intends to maintain the management of access to Household Waste Recycling Sites.
Household Waste Recycling Centres re-opened on the 15th May and have provided a disposal service of all household materials with operating procedures designed to protect residents and staff.
Now that there is a further easing of restrictions, KCC has made additional alterations to operations and access to the waste sites. Employing a new booking system from the 8th July, this will provide residents with an additional 13,000 booking slots throughout Kent, to just over 32,000 appointments each week. It will also enable residents two visits for every four weeks with the ability to book up to four weeks in advance. The Authority will continue to make service changes in order to follow Government guidance.
Lib Dem County Councillor Ian Chittenden commented, "This is another step forward improving the system and increasing the opportunity for residents to use our local Recycling Centre at Tovil while maintaining safety standards and meeting Government restrictions."
