The Loose Neighbourhood Plan is now Adopted by Maidstone Borough Council

MBC’s Strategic Planning Committee has agreed to adopt the Loose Neighbourhood Plan following the successful referendum held in Loose in August 2019 where 93.95% of the votes cast were "Yes" to accept the plan. The vote followed the committee’s decision to take the plan to referendum agreed in June.

Cllrs Sue Grigg and Brian Clark had provided input to the plan from inception and had supported the plan through the stages leading to adoption. Cllr Grigg stated, "I am so proud to have been involved in the Neighbourhood Plan Process in Loose. The Parish council, Loose Amenities and local residents have contributed generously and wholeheartedly, creating a plan which will both protect and enhance our precious village".

Cllr Clark, who proposed adoption of the plan seconded by Cllr Clive English at the meeting, continued, "I fully agree, in creating this plan residents have taken the opportunity to really ensure their views on the future of the village are heard. I was delighted to see unanimous support when we made the proposal for adoption."

The plan now becomes a statutory planning document which will need to be considered in future planning applications within Loose Village.
