Bio

A hugely popular councillor, Richard has lived in the Ward all his life and continues to live in the centre of Coxheath village.

He has represented Coxheath and Hunton Ward on Maidstone borough Council for the last six years and sits on the Economic, Regeneration and Leisure committee, Democracy Committee and General Purposes Committee. He has been a member of Coxheath Parish Council for five years and also regularly attends the meeting of all five of the parish councils within his Ward. Beyond dealing with many serious issues he is a regular member of Speed Watch and has been delighted to have led the team for a number of years organising the Christmas lights in Coxheath.

Richard commented, “my top priority will always be to provide support for local people at the heart of the community. For many years I have worked alongside local residents to tackle issues and protect the quality of life in the Ward. I also consider working with hard working parish councils and local amenity groups as central to my role as councillor. Fundamental to this work is protection of our precious countryside and ensuring that local services and infrastructure can sustain the pressure of the Conservative Government's insatiable demand for evermore Greenfield housing.
