This is to let you know that, as part of the on-going maintenance and improvement of the highway network, Kent County Council will be resurfacing B2012 Lower Boxley Road/Well Road from Staceys Street to beyond the Wheeler Street crossroads.
These road surface improvement works are programmed to start on Wednesday 23rd September 2020 and should take 9 weeknights (if unforeseen, impactful issues arise, Kent County Council may resolve this by undertaking weekend working to avoid an overrun of works) to complete. These activities will be undertaken between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 each night. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and uncertainty, there is a risk these works could be cancelled at any time.
During these essential works, it will be necessary to close the road completely between the Staceys Street roundabout and the A249 Sittingbourne Road so that we can carry out the works safely for both the workforce and road users. The diversion route will be:
- Eastbound traffic diverted via A229 Fairmeadow/A229 Broadway/A229 Palace Avenue/A249 Wat Tyler Way/A249 Sittingbourne Road.
- Westbound traffic diverted via A249 Sittingbourne Road/ A249 Andrew Broughton Way/ A249 Wat Tyler Way/ Knightrider Street/A229 Bishops Way/A229 Broadway/A229 Fairmeadow
- Localised diversions will be in place to direct vehicles to and from adjacent residential areas and businesses.
