Diana originally came from Maidstone before her family moved away. She returned to the Town and has lived in Allington for over 20 years.
Having been involved in the campaign to save Bluebell Wood, she represented one of the opposition groups at the public enquiry. Recognising the support that the Liberal Democrats had given to the Campaign, she later joined the Liberal Democrats and was elected as a Borough Councillor in 2016 to become part of a strong team with Cynthia Robertson, Dan Daley and Rob Bird. She is a member of the Economic, Regeneration and Leisure Committee and the Democracy and General purposes Committee on the Borough Council.
Maintenance of our countryside is of particular importance to her and she is seriously worried about the ongoing increase in housing, in or adjacent to Allington, as the result of the ever higher housing numbers demanded by the Government. It is not just the loss of our local countryside, it’s also the lack of new highway Infrastructure needed to support the heavier traffic demand and, needed to help reduce traffic congestion. She is also particularly concerned that the local health provision, schools, dentists and other services seem to be continually under pressure from the growing demand.
