The official groundbreaking ceremony to begin the construction of the Maidstone Innovation Centre took place on March 4th at the Kent Medical Centre adjacent to junction 7 of the M20.
Boost for local jobs
The centre which will open in summer 2021, and which is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, will provide flexible office space, facilities, and business support for companies working in life sciences, health care and medical technology for a range of small and medium-sized companies, with 30,000 sq feet of usable floor space.
Speaking at the ceremony Councillor Martin Cox, Lib Dem Leader of Maidstone Council said:
"This is a milestone for this exciting project which will provide high-quality facilities for local businesses and it is expected to support around 270 jobs and to lead to an injection of £120 million into the local economy over the next 10 years".
