Slow Down For A Safer Maidstone

It's time for 20mph on our streets.

The Lib Dem county councillors commissioned the 20mph limit outside the schools in Queens Road and are supporting their borough colleagues' calls for a 20mph zone elsewhere in the division. So many roads in Maidstone  are very dangerous, with children and elderly people particularly at risk.

Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate for Maidstone  & The Weald, Emily Fermer, is calling for a 20mph restriction on all our residential streets: "Local residents should be able to walk, cycle and live in their communities without  fear. Three quarters of the UK population say 20mph is the right speed limit for residential streets and over 15 million people live in local authorities which have adopted  or are adopting 20mph  default limits.

"So,isn't it time to put people's safety first here in Maidstone? Please support this campaign by signing the petition at www.maidstonelibdems.co.uk/20mph or contact your local Lib Dem councillor."
