Rosaline has run The Walnut Tree public house in Tonbridge Road for the past 3 years and is well known locally.  Before taking over The Walnut Tree, Rosaline arranged care for people with learning disabilities then worked as a manager providing extra care for people living in sheltered housing.

Rosaline believes it is important to treat everyone fairly and equally. She enjoys listening to and learning from other people. Speaking after the nominations were declared, Rosaline said: “Fant is a rich and diverse area with many charms but it has been sadly neglected in places. I hope that as borough councillor for Fant I can build on the Liberal Democrats’ strong record of fighting for people and communities in Maidstone.”

Fran Wilson, Leader of the Lib Dem Group at Maidstone Borough Council, added: “I am delighted Rosaline is standing. She is just the sort of councillor Fant needs, someone that is genuinely concerned about people and passionate about local issues, and someone that lives on the doorstep of the local community. She will be a great councillor.”

At the Borough Council election for Fant Ward on 7th May 2015 Rosaline Janko polled 930 votes coming second behind the incumbent, Councillor Alistair Black (see below for the results in full).
